We hope to enrich the lives of our fellow members through friendship, sisterhood, and celebrating the Mardi Gras season with pizazz, all while supporting local charities.

GIVING BACK

Each year our Queen and Emblem designate a charity of their choosing. During the Queen’s luncheon (which kicks off the Mardi Gras season), members give the gift of a donation to each of their charities. Over the years, we have raised money for the Kidney Foundation, purchased bullet proof vests for the K9 units for the Orange Beach Police, supported local after school care programs, cancer research and care organizations and many more.

Every year the Sirens award a scholarship to a female graduating from high schools in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. Our scholarship committee works with local high schools and students submit essays which are used to appoint a winner each year from both schools. This program is another way for us to help women thrive in our community.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

We are always on the lookout for a few good mermaids! It takes many hands to make any mardi gras krewe successful. But when the work is done, the FUN begins.... we work all year to enjoy our posh ball, parades, parties and support our charities.

There are many ways to participate and we welcome all who want to share in the sisterhood.

If you would like to become a member, please click below and email us to request an Application. There is a $25 application fee (check or venmo). Our membership VP will contact you and answer all your questions. We may invite you to join us at one of our monthly Mermaid Meet & Greet Events!

 

Your application must be approved by two Siren members and then we will welcome you with an induction ceremony.

We are always looking for new members, but full dues for the entire year must be paid for a member to be eligible to ride floats and attend the ball.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

-MERMAID level gives you access to everything: you vote, you ride in all the parades, a mermaid tail jacket, 4 ball tickets, and elgibility to run for a board position. $700 per year (can be paid $175 quarterly)

​

-SEAHORSE level gives you 2 tickets to the ball but you can only participate in the Saturday night parade IF you complete necessary volunteer hours at our events. No voting, no parade jacket. $400 per year

​

-STARFISH is an entry-level designed for those who want to just dip their toes in to start. You have no voting rights or ball tickets. But you can ride the float on Saturday night if you complete the necessary volunteer hours. It's a great way to give us a try. Just $275 per year, but you can only be a Starfish for 2 years.
